Whereis Navigator

GPS satellite navigation on your mobile or smartphone
Whereis® Navigator is like having a portable GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite navigation system on your (compatible) mobile or smartphone. It uses GPS satellites to work out your location and give you visual and spoken turn-by-turn directions to your destination.

Who uses it?
Whereis® Navigator is ideal for personal or business users who want to use their phones to guide them to their destination. If you have the appropriate hands-free dock, you can even use it in your car.

What does it do?
Whereis® Navigator has many of the features you get on Whereis® Mobile, such as:
  • directions
  • mapping
  • points of interest

What makes it unique is how well it works with the technology in new mobile devices to direct you, step-by-step, all the way to your destination. Its features include:
  • simple-to-understand visual maps with spoken directions and street names throughout your trip
  • automatic re-routing when you travel off route
  • intelligent/intuitive address searching
  • estimated times to destinations
  • compatibility with your (compatible) mobile or smartphone contact list to auto-populate address details
  • a range of other useful features

How does it work?
Whereis® Navigator uses satellites within the GPS to continuously determine your location and deliver turn-by-turn visual and spoken directions just as you need them.

Can I get it on my phone?
Whereis® Navigator is currently available on the BlackBerry® Bold, 8110, 8800 Smartphone, Nokia N95, N96, N85, HTC Diamond, HD, Sony Ericsson X1, C905 and Palm Treo Pro when connected to an eligible Telstra Mobile Plan, and will be launched across a range of handsets soon. . New handsets are being continually added. It is only available to Telstra customers. Check this site to see if your phone is compatible.

How much does it cost?
Whereis® Navigator is charged through your Telstra bill. A free seven-day trial is available. You can subscribe via your handset for day passes or ongoing monthly usage.
